The Role

The Commercial Manager will oversee the commercial operations of the business, ensuring contracts are delivered profitably while maintaining strong client and stakeholder relationships. This is a strategic role with hands-on responsibilities, offering the opportunity to influence business direction and growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage all commercial aspects of the business, from pre-contract through to final account.
  • Develop and implement commercial strategies to drive growth and profitability.
  • Prepare, review, and negotiate tenders, contracts, and client agreements.
  • Monitor project costs, budgets, and financial performance.
  • Provide accurate forecasting, reporting, and risk management.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Collaborate with project, operations, and finance teams to ensure successful delivery.
About You

We are seeking a commercially astute professional with a track record of success in a similar role.

You will bring:

  • Proven experience as a Commercial Manager or in a senior commercial role, ideally within construction, interiors, or exteriors.
  • Strong contract management and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent financial and analytical abilities.
  • A proactive, results-driven, and entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Knowledge of construction contracts (JCT/NEC) would be advantageous.

What we require from you? - Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying - 3 years' experience undertaking a similar role preferably for a main contractor. - Strong knowledge of ICE/NEC forms of contract - Solid background in commercial management and subcontractor procurement, including leading regular meetings, managing the measurement and control cycle, issuing certificates, and performing accruals calculations. - Demonstrated expertise in monthly reporting and earned value analysis. - Skilled in estimation and cost analysis. - Excellent communication, numerical, and IT skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office. - Valid CSCS card The client has been established for over 30 years with a growing pipeline of works.
