This is an exciting opportunity to work with students who have a diverse range of special educational needs (SEN), providing tailored support in the classroom and helping them achieve their full potential.As an SEN TA, you will be working with pupils with a variety of learning needs, including autism spectrum disorders, dyslexia, social emotional and mental health, and other specific educational needs. You will play a vital role in ensuring these students feel supported, valued, and empowered to succeed in their education, by removing barriers to learning and boosting their self esteem.You will be part of a family-feel SENCO team that is committed to professional development, collaboration, and nurturing an inclusive environment where both staff and students thrive. Key Responsibilities: Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with SEN in both mainstream classes, and within specialist inclusion/intervention classes. Assist with the implementation of individual learning plans (ILPs) and contribute to monitoring pupil progress Work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to ensure students' needs are met within the curriculum Support students with a range of strategies to improve concentration, behaviour, and independence in learning Build positive relationships with students, promoting a nurturing and supportive environment The Ideal Candidate Will Have: Experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a secondary school setting, with a focus on SEN A strong understanding of a range of SEN needs and the ability to apply effective strategies for support Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting young people to overcome barriers to learning A proactive attitude and the ability to use initiative to support students and staff An understanding of safeguarding and a commitment to creating a safe and inclusive learning environmentDesirable but not essential: Relevant qualifications (e.g. Teaching Assistant Level 2/3, SEN qualifications) Experience working with students with Autism, Dyslexia, ADHD, SEMH, Challenging Behaviours, or other specific learning needs.
