Overview

We are seeking a Graduate Transport Planner with a passion for transport planning and a desire to contribute to a wide range of development planning projects across the UK. This role offers the chance to work on diverse and impactful projects, with a strong focus on sustainable development and the transition to net zero.

This is a hybrid role, offering flexibility to work from home and the office, with locations in Manchester (Wilmslow) or Newcastle.

Responsibilities

As a Graduate Transport Planner, you will:

  • Gather, analyse, and interpret traffic data from various external sources.
  • Assess development sites for accessibility across multiple transport modes.
  • Contribute to the preparation of Technical Notes, Transport Statements/Assessments, Environmental Statement chapters, and Travel Plans.
  • Create technical figures and use GIS tools to support reports and assessments.
  • Conduct junction capacity assessments and site visits.
  • Assist in masterplan and junction design, as well as the design of highway improvement schemes.
  • Work collaboratively with an experienced team, receiving tailored support to aid your professional development.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A degree in a relevant field such as Geography, Transport Planning, Town Planning, or Civil Engineering.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in development-focused transport planning.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a positive attitude.
  • Excellent presentation and technical writing abilities.
  • The ability to manage your time effectively to meet deadlines and budgets.
  • A genuine interest and enthusiasm for transport planning.

Day-to-Day
