Overview
We are seeking a Graduate Transport Planner with a passion for transport planning and a desire to contribute to a wide range of development planning projects across the UK. This is a hybrid role, offering flexibility to work from home and the office, with locations in Manchester (Wilmslow) or Newcastle.
Responsibilities
As a Graduate Transport Planner, you will:
- Gather, analyse, and interpret traffic data from various external sources.
- Assess development sites for accessibility across multiple transport modes.
- Contribute to the preparation of Technical Notes, Transport Statements/Assessments, Environmental Statement chapters, and Travel Plans.
- Create technical figures and use GIS tools to support reports and assessments.
- Conduct junction capacity assessments and site visits.
- Assist in masterplan and junction design, as well as the design of highway improvement schemes.
- Work collaboratively with an experienced team, receiving tailored support to aid your professional development.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- A degree in a relevant field such as Geography, Transport Planning, Town Planning, or Civil Engineering.
- A minimum of one year of experience in development-focused transport planning.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a positive attitude.
- Excellent presentation and technical writing abilities.
- The ability to manage your time effectively to meet deadlines and budgets.
- A genuine interest and enthusiasm for transport planning.
