The Nook and Cranny in Alderley Edge has been shortlisted for the best newcomer category in the Taste of Cheshire Food and Drink Awards 2024.

The dog friendly coffee shop is tucked away on South Street in Alderley Edge and sells coffee as well as a line-up of fresh cakes, pastries, homemade soups and sandwiches all made with locally sourced ingredients.

The grand finale of the awards will take place on Wednesday 2 October at the prestigious Chester Racecourse.

This special awards dinner will celebrate the outstanding achievements of the region's food and drink businesses.

The shop is on South Street in Alderley Edge (Wilmslow Nub News).

Voting closed on Friday 6 September for the various categories of the awards.

A record-breaking 64,794 votes were cast by the public, demonstrating the passion and enthusiasm for the region's vibrant food and drink scene.

The owner of Nook and Cranny, Anna Williams, said: "I am absolutely over the moon to have been shortlisted for this award. As a small, owner-run coffee shop, being recognised alongside some of Cheshire's top establishments is an incredible honour.

"Since day one, Nook & Cranny has been about more than just serving great coffee. I wanted to create a space that truly embodies community—where everyone feels welcome the moment they walk through the door, and where our customers can enjoy high-quality products sourced from local, independent suppliers.

Winners will be crowned on Wednesday 2 October following a glittering dinner at Chester Racecourse.
