Wilmslow councillors consult with Cheshire East Highways over deterioration of the A34 Bypass
Wilmslow Cheshire East Councillors have been in contact with Cheshire East Highways about the state of the road surface on the A34 Bypass.
Many residents have complained about the state of the road surface, with debris causing damage to cars.
Andy Simpson, the Senior Highways Officer for the area said: "The Construction Team are aware of the failing surface along the A34 and are currently liaising with Eurovia Surface Treatments regarding this continuing deterioration.
"In the meantime, a further sweeping operation has been organised and this is scheduled to be completed via night working using lane closures between Wednesday 22 and Friday 24 January. Should I receive any further updates I will advise as accordingly."
It is hoped that the sweeping operation will serve to remove the debris, which has surfaced after the recent spate of bad weather, and will result in a much better road surface.
The council will continue to monitor and liaise with Cheshire Highways regarding this work.
