A local cafe has won 'family business of the year' at the Cheshire Club's Creme de la Creme Awards on Friday 15 November.

Lily and Rosie Cafe is located at 4 Wood Gardens in Alderley Edge and serves a delicious selection of food.

Malika and her partner Omid Beheshti run the business, with Omid doing the cooking Malika working at front of house.

The site of the cafe had been a launderette for many years until Omid started to build the cafe, transforming it from a state of disrepair.

A year on since it first opened in Alderley Edge, the couple appreciate the community, which has really supported them.

The cafe had been shortlisted for the 'family business of the year' category of the Cheshire business awards, at which they were presented with an award last Friday 15 November.

Malika said: "We really can't believe we won. Thank you everyone. The community around us is amazing and it feels like we are just one big family. Without all your support and votes, none of this would have been possible.

"1st December from 5pm please join us to celebrate and raise money for East Cheshire Hospice and listen to the beautiful choir sing Christmas carols by the Christmas tree in Wood Gardens. A massive thank you to The Cheshire Club. It was an incredible evening "
