Fire crews tackle blaze at a commercial building in Handforth

Cheshire fire and rescue tackled a blaze at a building in Handforth, with the cause of the fire believed to be "accidental."

On Wednesday 16 October, fire crews were called to an incident on Wilmslow Road.

Just after midnight, firefighters attended the call to a fire in a room in a commercial premises.

Cheshire firefighters used a hose reel to extinguish the blaze.

A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "The building was evacuated and a thorough check was made of all floors.

"A fire investigation took place and it is believed the fire started accidentally due to electrical cabling."
