French restaurant in Cheshire village included in the Michelin Guide for third year running

A restaurant is celebrating being named one of the country's best.
La Popote in Marton has been included in the Michelin Guide for the third year in a row.
Chef Joseph Rawlins, who opened the French fine dining restaurant with his wife Gaëlle Radigon, couldn't be prouder of his team.
"It's amazing!" he said.
"It's a great achievement for us as a team.
"It's nice to be recognised as something a bit different to other restaurants in the area and also to recognise the hard work of the whole team."

Asked the secret to their sustained success, Chef Joseph added: "We use a lot of seasonal produce, that's something that's really important to us.
"We also have an ever-revolving menu which changes every six weeks.
"But ultimately, we just love what we do!"

Originally from Wilmslow, Chef Joseph trained at Gordon Ramsay's Tante Marie cooking school, graduating with a Cordon Bleu Diploma.
Since then, he has worked at the Michelin starred Artichoke in Old Amersham as well as several restaurants in Paris, including Jadis where he honed his skills under Guillaume Delage.
Meanwhile, Gaëlle has many years as the front of house in restaurants both in England and her native France.

The couple took over La Popote in 2019 and in December 2022 the restaurant was included in the Michelin Guide.
Chef Joseph hasn't switched up too much since then.
He said: "We're happy with what we're doing.
"When we spoke to Michelin when we first got in the guide they said 'Don't change what you're doing to impress us. Just do what you do, run your business how you want to run it and things will naturally fall into place'.
"It's a hard balance between doing what you want to do and keeping your clients interested and happy."

That all said, Chef Joseph has implemented a few changes.
They recently removed the table cloths and got new tables and chairs to keep the restaurant 'updated and modern'.
'Les 4 Saisons' set menu was introduced last year and La Popote has started hosting more events, such as the steak night and apres ski night they have coming up later this month.
When the weather warms up, Chef Joseph is planning to host BBQ events in the restaurant's garden.
