Detectives investigating a robbery outside a restaurant in Alderley Edge have charged a man in relation to the incident.

At around 10pm on Saturday 29 March, a 35-year-old woman was robbed outside San Carlo restaurant on Wilmslow Road. During the incident a gold Rolex watch and a Birkin handbag were stolen.

Following enquiries by detectives at Macclesfield CID, a 25-year-old man from Bradford was arrested a man in relation to the incident on Wednesday 2 April.

Liam Ross, of High Street, Wibsey, has since been charged with one count of robbery and one count of being concerned in the supply of class B drugs (cannabis).

He appeared at Chester Magistrates Court on Friday 4 April where he was remanded in custody. He is next set to appear at Chester Crown Court on Friday 2 May.
