Reminder of when to put your bins out over the festive period
With so much going on over the festive period, here is a reminder of when bins will be collected over the festive period.
There will be no black or silver bin collections on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, or New Year's Day.
If your bins were scheduled for collection on those days, they will be collected on the following dates:
Christmas Day (Wednesday 25 December)
. Black bin - Monday 23 December
. Silver bin - Tuesday 24 December
Boxing Day (Thursday 26 December)
. Black bin - Monday 30 December
. Silver bin - Tuesday 31 December
New Year's Day (Wednesday 1 January)
. Black bin - Thursday 2 January
. Silver bin - Monday 6 January
As a reminder, bins should be left by the road outside your property by 6.30am on the day of collection and be brought back in as soon as possible after they have been emptied.
With all the presents and extra food over the holidays, it is important to remember that the council won't collect any rubbish that can't fit inside the bin.
Additional waste or recycling should either be kept until the next bin collection or taken to a household waste recycling centre.
Garden waste collections for subscribers to the council's Garden Waste Recycling Scheme will finish on Friday 20 December. They will restart for subscribers to the 2025 scheme from the week commencing 20 January.
