Wilmslow football club awarded community grant for essential maintenance

Wilmslow Albion Football Club has been awarded a Wilmslow Town Council Community Grant of £1,850.
Based on Styal Road, Wilmslow Albion is one of Cheshire's oldest active football clubs, first established in 1919.
They have approximately 60 registered players, and play in the FA Manchester Football League.
The grant will be used to cover expenditure in three areas: provision of an in-house kit washing facility, essential repairs to the clubhouse and grounds maintenance equipment (servicing & repair and purchase of replacement equipment).
The spending will support the continuation and development of the club, which brings both opportunities to play for a local football club and volunteering opportunities such as coaching and facilitating the operation of the club.
Wilmslow Town Mayor, Cllr Tim Higgins, said: "We are proud to award a community grant to Wilmslow Albion – a team with deep roots in our town and a place that brings people together.
This funding will improve facilities and help the club continue to grow."
