Wilmslow High School ranks highly in 'School Sports Magazine Top 200 Sports Schools'
Wilmslow High School has made it into the 'School Sports Magazine Top 200 Sports Schools'.
This national recognition is based on participation and results in over 20 different sports and 120 different events.
It's been another exceptional sporting year and schools all over the country turned in a series of outstanding performances to reach School Sport Magazine's exclusive top sports schools list.
Qualifying competitions for the School Sport Magazine top 200 sports schools list are subject to change and amended every year.
More weighting is given to success in a range of sports rather than single sports and those sports with more schools competing.
Reaching the top 40 puts you in the top one per cent of the country's state or independent sporting schools, the top 100 puts you in the top two per cent while the top 200 puts you in the top four per cent.
Schools usually have to reach the later stages of at least two, three or four national competitions to make the list.
In the magazine, Wilmslow High School has been ranked in 50th place which puts them in the top 10 state schools nationally.
A spokesperson said: "Well done to all involved. It is testament to a lot of hard work and dedication on the part of our staff, parents and students.
"The list now includes all of the independent schools, which makes our 50th place finish even more impressive as a state school."
