A woman from Wilmslow is raising money to help save her beloved German Shepherd who is fighting a cancer battle.

Natalie Gauci has set up a GoFundMe to support her beloved German Shepherd, Loki, who has been diagnosed with cancer.

Loki, who is just three years old, has recently been diagnosed with a soft tissue sarcoma.

Soft tissue sarcoma are tumors that develop in the soft tissues of a dog's body, including the muscles or the connective tissues.

Natalie is hopeful that she can raise the money for Loki's treatment.

She said: "Approximately four weeks ago, my life changed dramatically when I was cuddling with Loki on the sofa and discovered a lump on his abdomen.

"I regularly check him for any changes, and this lump appeared suddenly. I promptly took him to the vet two days later, where I received the devastating news.

"The veterinarian suspected it was not merely a fatty lump and recommended a biopsy. Unfortunately, the results confirmed a diagnosis of soft tissue sarcoma, and the tumor was graded as intermediate to high.

"We have since been referred to a specialized oncology team at a private hospital for further evaluation and treatment, which will include surgery and additional radiotherapy due to the tumor's grade.

"The best chance for Loki's recovery lies in surgically removing the majority of the cancerous tissue, followed by radiotherapy to address any remaining cells."

Since losing her soulmate dog three years ago, Loki has been a source of strength and support for Natalie.

Any donations are welcome and can be made through her GoFundMe page.
