Residents and team members at Wilmslow's newest care home were joined by the local community and a host of special guests for a grand launch celebration.

Care UK's Long Stone Manor, on Manchester Road, was officially declared 'open' by Clare Hayward MBE DL High Sheriff of Cheshire, who cut the ribbon and joined residents for the festivities.

Guests were treated to an afternoon to remember, with live entertainment from local violinist Katie Geelan, known as Fiddlesticks, and singer-guitarist Nick Bertram-Powell, who played acoustic music to get everyone into the celebratory spirit.

The team at Long Stone Manor also organised a host of exciting activities for residents' families and the local community to enjoy, including a sound bath with Oceansage Therapy, and a caricaturist.

After touring the new home to see what life is like at Long Stone Manor, guests enjoyed mocktails in the home's bar and tasted meals from the residents' menu, specially prepared by the Head Chef, Oli Jackson.

Emma Tillyer, Home Manager at Care UK's Long Stone Manor, said: "Our grand launch party was a huge success and the perfect way to officially declare Long Stone Manor 'open'.

"We were delighted to be joined by our special guests and would like to extend a big thank you to Clare Hayward MBE DL High Sheriff of Cheshire for cutting the ribbon. It truly was a day to remember, and we hope to welcome everyone again very soon for more fantastic events at Long Stone Manor."

Clare Hayward MBE DL High Sheriff of Cheshire, added: "It was great to visit such a fabulous home and witness the thought and detail that has gone into its design, creating a truly beautiful space. It was particularly wonderful to meet some of the team.

"It is the team and the people that really make a difference to any home or business, and a team that is caring for others really needs to be something very special.

"We were therefore all delighted to meet the leaders and team that are responsible for delivering the Care that will make a difference to families. Thank you for the invitation."
