Woman, 18, found dead in Wilmslow shortly after going missing

An 18-year-old woman has sadly been found dead in Wilmslow this morning shortly after she was reported missing.

Officers were called to reports of a missing person shortly after 7am on Thursday 10 October according to Cheshire Police.

Around 90 minutes later, the woman was found near Rotherwood Road.

A Cheshire police spokesperson said: "Shortly after 7am on Thursday 10 October police were called to reports of a missing 18-year-old woman in the Wilmslow area. 

"A short time later, at 8.33am, the woman was located near to Rotherwood Road. 

"Police and paramedics attended, bur sadly despite the best efforts of all those involved, she was pronounced dead at the scene. Her next of kin are aware and are being supported by officers.

"The death is not believed to be suspicious and a case file will be prepared for the coroner."
