July 19's 'Freedom Day' has had little impact on the number of COVID-19 cases, with the easing of restrictions seeing a fall in cases.

We also have the latest vaccination rates for the Wilmslow area, thanks to the government figures.

We have ordered the data by the area's names in alphabetical order. In brackets, denote the change in numbers from a fortnight ago, data for seven days to July 14.

Here is the latest vaccination and number of positive tests for COVID-19 in the Wilmslow area.

Listed below are the figures for the seven days to July 24 for cases, and July 28 for vaccinations

Fulshaw Park & Lindow

Cases 15 (-13)

First Vaccine 87.9% (+0.6%)

Second Vaccine 76.1% (+5.1%) Lacey Green & Wilmslow Park

Cases 33 (-5)

First Vaccine 80.5% (+0.7%)

Second Vaccine 66.8% (+5.1%)

Handforth & Dean Row

Second Vaccine 66.9% (+4.9%) Wilmslow Town

Cases 15 (-5)

First Vaccine 82.0% (+0.7%)

Second Vaccine 69.9% (+4.2%)

A fortnight ago there was 133 cases in Fulshaw Park & Lindow, Lacey Green & Wilmslow Park, Handforth & Dean Row and Wilmslow Town.

There are now just 106 cases in our area - a decrease of 27 within 14 days.

There may still be a little increase next week, as COVID-19 symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus, and we are only five days from 'Freedom Day' with this data.

Overall figures for our borough are also on the decline.

In Cheshire East, 142 new people had a confirmed positive test result reported on 29 July 2021.

Between 23 July 2021 and 29 July 2021, 1,065 people had a confirmed positive test result. This shows a decrease of -43.5% compared to the previous 7 days.

It is not all good news however, hospitalisations have more than doubled.

There were 14 patients in hospital with coronavirus on 27 July 2021. Three are on a ventilator.

This is an increase of six patients in hospital with coronavirus in East Cheshire NHS Trust hospitals on July 13, two of which then being on ventilators.

For data protection reasons, it is not known the precise location of residence for locals who were hospitalised.

The increase is in line with national trends. 705 were admitted to hospital on July 17 in the UK, whereas 932 was admitted on 25 July.

Between 23 July 2021 and 29 July 2021, there have been 4 Cheshire East deaths within 28 days of a positive coronavirus test. This shows an increase of 33.3% compared to the previous 7 days.
