The Cheshire Mercantile in Wilmslow has applied to extend the hours that it can sell alcohol.

The Cheshire Mercantile Ltd applied on Wednesday 30 October 2024 to Cheshire East Council in respect of the premises known as Cheshire Mercantile located on 1 Church Street in Wilmslow to vary their licensable activities.

The shop sells a variety of cheeses and specialises in craft beers.

In its application, the business seeks permission to extend the sale and supply for alcohol on and off the premises.

The business currently serves alcohol between the hours of 10am and 6pm on a Wednesday and Thursday, and between 10am and 7.30pm on Friday and Saturday.

The business is closed on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.

Cheshire Mercantile Ltd's application reads: "Notice is hereby given that we, The Cheshire Mercantile Ltd have applied on 30TH October 2024 to Cheshire East Council in respect of the premises known as Cheshire Mercantile, 1 Church Street, Wilmslow, SK9 1AX to vary the following licensable activities: Sale of alcohol for consumption on and off the premises – Monday – Wednesday – 10:00 – 20:00, Thursday – 10:00 –22:00, Friday – Saturday – 09:00 – 22:00, Sunday – 10:00 –16:00.

"Representations shall be made in writing to the below address on or before the following date: 27 November 2024."
