Carefound Home Care in Wilmslow kicked off the festive season with a dementia-friendly screening of 'White Christmas' in support of East Cheshire NHS Charity.

The event brought together clients, their families, carers, and members of the local community, in an environment made suitable for older people and those living with dementia.

Attendees enjoyed the Christmas classic, 'White Christmas', with traditional mince pies and ice cream. The screening was free, with a small donation for the beautiful cakes made by Helen Mills from Carefound Home Care. All money raised went to supporting the East Cheshire NHS Charity.

Rachel Wallace, Deputy Director of Communications and Engagement for East Cheshire NHS Trust, said: "The dementia-friendly event at the Wilmslow Rex was very special and it was a privilege to join in the afternoon."

"We are very grateful to Carefound Home Care for their continued support of East Cheshire NHS Charity. The money raised helps provide for the added extras that the NHS can't fund and it's these added extras that make all the difference to patient experience.

"Funding goes towards a whole range of things such as buying toys for children to play with whilst waiting for appointments, or staff well-being areas, where they can recharge to keep providing the best possible patient care."

"It is because of organisations like Carefound Home Care fundraising for us that we can go the extra mile for our community. Thank you, we cannot do what we do without people like you."

Yvonne Fletcher, a live-in carer at Carefound Home Care, shared her experience of the event: "Thank you to our Wilmslow branch for putting together this fantastic event at Wilmslow's Rex Cinema.

"The carrot cake was particularly delicious, I got to watch 'White Christmas' for the first time, and my client really enjoyed watching her favourite Christmas film. Thank you for all your hard work and support."

Alongside their other fundraising activities, this is an annual event organised by Carefound Home Care's Wilmslow branch. You can learn more about their local home care services HERE
