Cheshire Police urge caution after a man claimed to be traffic warden in Wilmslow
Cheshire police are urging caution as they investigate an incident at Sainsbury's car park in Wilmslow
According to police, the incident took place on Friday 6 December, when an unknown male posed as a parking attendant saying "the ticket machine was broken."
On Friday 6 December police were called to reports of suspicious activity in Wilmslow.
The caller reported that they had been approached by a man claiming to be a traffic warden whilst parking at a car park on South Drive in Wilmslow.
The man told the victim that the ticket machine was broken and that he would need to pay him directly by bank card.
The victim handed over his debit card and the offender then fled the scene.
Enquiries in relation to the matter are ongoing and anyone with any information is asked to call Cheshire Police on 101 quoting IML 1986613.
It should be noted that traffic wardens will never ask you to pay them directly for parking tickets or fines.
