Independent charity Everybody Health and Leisure has donated toys valued over £3000 to community initiatives through the Everybody Foundation.

The Foundation exists as a way for the charity to further support members of the community in Cheshire East, giving sports clubs the opportunity to apply for grants to be used as a hardship fund for the club, or to apply on behalf of a young person who is at risk of having to drop out because of cost.

These grants can be used for subscription fees, travel costs and to buy equipment to keep children and young people in sport.

This December the foundation has distributed toys to 13 of the Everybody Health and Leisure sites, which the site teams have been able to pass on to local initiatives of their choice. Toys included scooters, sports toys, baby and toddler toys, craft supplies and skateboards.

In Wilmslow, the toys were given to Wilmslow and District Rotary Rotatoy Appeal.

CEO of Everybody Health and Leisure, Thomas Barton said: "We are always looking for more ways to help our communities and more ways to encourage young people to engage in sport.

"We know that this has been a hard time for a lot of people and, with food bank use rising, we understand that spending money on toys for Christmas is just not realistic for some families.

"However, no child should miss out on a magical Christmas and we hope that these donations will help bring smiles to the faces of children and their families as we go through the festive season."
