Emergency services attend road traffic collision involving heavy goods vehicle in Handforth
Emergency services were called to the scene of a road traffic collision involving a heavy goods vehicle in Handforth.
At around 12:40pm on Thursday 2 January, two fire engines from Poynton and Wilmslow attended the scene of a road traffic collision on Earl Road in Handforth.
A Cheshire fire and rescue spokesperson said: "Crews were called to a road traffic collision involving a heavy goods vehicle.
"One medically trapped casualty was rescued and handed to the care of paramedics.
"Police were also on the scene."
A police spokesperson added: "At 12.42pm today police were called to the bridge next to Handforth Dean Retail Park following reports of an HGV having collided with the bridge.
"There are some closures in place while the HGV is being recovered and the bridge assessed by Highway engineers."
