Runners are gearing up for Wilmslow running festival which will take place on Sunday 23 March.

On the day, there will be a number of road closures in and around Wilmslow.

The A538 will be closed on Sunday 23 March from 9:15am to 10:30pm and so delays are to be expected.

The following road closures will be in place:

• Kings Road - 9:00-10:00
• Mobberley Road from A538 to Morley Green - 6:30-13:30
• A538 Kings Road to airport tunnels - 9:15-10:15
• Morley Green Road - 9:00-13:00
• Burley Hurst Lane - 9:00-13:00
• Newton Hall Lane - 9:00-13:00
• Davenport Lane - 9:00-13:00
• Lady Lane - 9:00-13:00
• Hobcroft Lane to Pepper Street - 9:00-13:00
• Small Lane - 9:00-13:00
• Wood Lane - 9:00-13:00
• Breach House Lane - 9:00-13:00
• Pepper Street - 9:00-13:00
• Broadoak Lane - 9:00-13:00
• Town Lane/B5085 (Broadoak Lane to Church Lane) - 9:00-13:00
• Church Lane (B5085 to Hobcroft Lane) - 9:00-13:00

Those who wish to collect their race number beforehand can do so from the Running Bear shop in Alderley Edge until 5:30pm on Thursday 20 March.

The race will begin at Wilmslow Rugby Union Football Club on Kings Road in Wilmslow.

Runners are asked to be at the start line for no later than 9:10am. Warm up will begin at 9:10am, led by ASICS and Running Bear before the race starts promptly at 9:30am for the half marathon and 10k events.

Those running are reminded that numbers must be attached to the front of your vest as he timing chip is attached to the back of your number and is detected when you cross the start and the finish.

You will not receive a medal if you do not have your race number on your persons after crossing the finish line.
