Flooding causes road closures in Wilmslow
Weather warnings are in place after heavy rainfall overnight has caused some roads in Wilmslow to be shut.
The A34 Alderley Edge bypass, Alderley Road in Wilmslow and the M56 westbound between junctions J6 and J8 are currently closed.
The Environment Agency had issued flood warnings for the UK following heavy rain throughout last night (Tuesday 31 December) and this morning (Wednesday 1 January).
The Environment Agency also said the River Bollin and Agden Brook at Little Bollington is expected to flood.
As of 9.45am, The River Bollin level at Bollington Mill was 1.41 metres. Property flooding is possible when it goes above 1.30 metres.
Elsewhere in the town, flooding is possible, with alerts issued.
This is for the River Bollin catchment, including Knutsford and Wilmslow.
Locals are advised to avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses.
