Handforth residents should avoid the high street on Wilmslow Road tonight, as a the building of an Italian restaurant has collapsed.

Giuliano's, which is located on Handforth's 121 Wilmslow Road, will likely be shut for weeks as a result of the destruction.

Strong winds have likely caused the issue, but emergency services have currently not confirmed the exact reason, which are all at the scene.

Cheshire Police provided this statement:

"Officers are currently dealing with an incident at Giuliano's in Handforth, part of the building has collapsed.

"At this time we do not believe anyone has been injured, please do not travel to the area unnecessarily as emergency workers are trying to make the scene safe."
