Wilmslow's newest restaurant has opened their doors this week.

Hickory's Smokehouse, which is a small chained restaurant franchise located across the north west and midlands, have launched their 12th premises in Wilmslow.

It is located on the site of The Boddington Arms which used to be a Harvester, on Wilmslow's Racecourse Road.

The American barbecue restaurant were announced to be moving in over two years ago in June 2019.

But due to the refurbishment of the site and length of the pandemic, the eatery has only just opened their doors this week, after a soft opening just for drinks last Friday.

Their drinks menu includes American themed cocktails, a Hickory's pale ale, and own recipe fizzy drinks.

A selection of 340g signature rump and butt steaks, sourced from the UK, a chicken fried waffle, and wood roasted salmon.

There's also fajitas and Mac 'N' Cheese for vegetarians.

They'll bring over 20 jobs to our town, and are still hiring for a Bartender and wait staff.

They are also looking for more kitchen staff, with a Senior Sous Chef, and Prep Chef still wanted.

There is also secondary management opportunities on their careers website.

They have two other sites in Cheshire. Previously, Wilmslow residents previously had to travel six miles to the Hickory's in Poynton.

The business is said to serve Wilmslow "Barbecue heaven eleven until eleven - seven days a week".

The parent company of the new Wilmslow restaurant has five values: Authenticity, welcoming, passionate, daring, and perhaps most interestingly, community.

Hickory's have raised over £150,000 for local charity Cash for Kids, which is the children's charity of communications conglomerate Bauer Media.

A spokesman for Hickory's Smokehouse said: "At Hickory's Smokehouse we are fanatical about flames, silly about smokers and utterly obsessed with the smells, tastes and traditions of the Deep South."

"On our travels we are always greeted like old friends and we just wanted to bottle the generosity of spirit and open hearted hospitality of the Southern States.

"From how our Pitmasters smoke meat, the secret recipe rubs and sauces to how to make the best Bourbon Old Fashioned, we keep learning.

"Hospitality doesn't stop at our front door we want to become part of the local communities we're in."
