River Bollin flood alert issued for Wilmslow

A flood alert has been issued for the River Bollin following snow and heavy rain (Wilmslow Nub News).

A flood alert has been issued for the River Bollin following snow and heavy rain.

The Environment Agency have now issued a flood alert for the Bollin catchment area, which includes Knutsford and Wilmslow.

An Environment Agency spokesperson said: "River levels are rising due to rainfall.

"Flooding is forecast in locations near the Rivers Bollin with low lying land and roads expected to be most affected near the Rivers Bollin and Dean, and Pedley, Birkin and Mobberley Brooks and their tributaries.

"More rainfall is forecast throughout Monday 6 January.

"We are closely monitoring the situation and are monitoring rainfall and river levels.

Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water."
