A concert in aid of Ukraine's Young Musicians will be held on Saturday 28 September at St Bartholomew's Church in Wilmslow.

The Evans Arts Trust and Chetham's School of Music have joined forces to host this very special concert.

The Principal and Artistic Director of Chetham's School of Music, Tom Redmond, will introduce the young musicians who have been chosen to perform at the concert.

The school was quick to reach out to Ukraine when the war began and, together with the generosity of local families who have made Ukrainian families welcome here, has enabled talented young musicians to come to Manchester to continue their specialist music education in safety.

The concert will run from 2.30pm until 4pm (Wilmslow Nub News).

The Wilmslow-based Evans Arts Trust, founded in 1984, made a donation to Chetham's School of Music's Ukrainian Bursary Fund and in return, Chetham's kindly offered to bring a group of students to Wilmslow to give a recital.

St Bartholomew's welcomed the opportunity to host this concert and bring everyone in Wilmslow together for a relaxed afternoon of wonderful music and socialising.

"We are delighted to be coming to Wilmslow for this special concert," said Tom Redmond, who is passionate about making music exciting and accessible to all age groups.

"Live music is magic, and wherever our students perform we are always thrilled to meet and chat to anyone who may be wondering whether a school full of like-minded friends, where every day is a music day, might just be the place for them."

There is no admission charge for this special concert, but a retiring collection will help to raise much-needed funds for the school's Ukrainian Bursary Fund.

The concert will run from 2.30pm to 4.00pm.
