Wilmslow Job of the Week: Learning Support Assistant at Gorsey Bank Primary School

Wilmslow mixed 4-11 school Gorsey Bank Primary is hiring.

The Altrincham Road educational institute are after a new Learning Support Assistant.

It is a part-time role with a varying salary of £15,366 to £16,633 a year.

The Learning Support Assistant will be signed on a Fixed Term contract until August 31 next year.

They'll support specific students on a one-to-one basis and in small groups, particularly with SEND pupils.

Gorsey's next employee will prepare and maintain learning resources according to the needs of students with SEND.

Gorsey Bank hope to instil a love of 'Learning for Life' for their pupils, and it is hoped their next Learning Support Assistant will also bring this positivity.

The new hire will give vital support to both teacher and child, while recognising their needs for independence as well.

"We are a highly oversubscribed school with a proven track record of outstanding pupil attainment which placed us in the top 5% of schools nationally for our most recent Key Stage 2 results," said the Wilmslow school.

"Due to continued growth and success, we are looking to appoint a pro-active and dedicated Learning Support Assistant into the team.

"They will support staff work tirelessly to ensure all services run smoothly and efficiently, enabling our teaching staff to focus on delivering an outstanding education for our students."

The ideal candidate should possess prior experience within a similar role, particularly a school environment.

The successful applicant must have experience working with young people who are either vulnerable or have special educational needs.

GCSE's in Maths and English (A*-C) or equivalent is essential, this is as there will be a small amount of date and bookkeeping for students with SEND.

Possessing a relevant NVQ3 or equivalent qualification is also desired.

Having a First Aid qualification will also help you stand out from the crowd.

The academy was rated Good by OFSTED on their last inspection in September 2019.

The closing date to register your interest is Thursday July 15 at 9.00am.
