The fencing outside Wilmslow Train Station has recently been renewed by Wilmslow Town Council.

Located at the entrance to the train station and running parallel with Station Road, the previous fencing had weathered and fallen apart.

Following several repairs, its condition was beyond further repair so the old picket fencing was removed and has now been replaced with new fencing.

Wilmslow Town Mayor, Councillor Tim Higgins, said, "The approach to Wilmslow Train station is seen by huge numbers of people every day: not just train users, but those getting buses from the train station, workers and visitors of the surrounding offices and people passing on Station Road.

"Before Wilmslow Town Council redeveloped the green space outside of the station, it looked unkempt and unwelcoming. With fencing, floral displays and regular maintenance from our handyperson, the area has been much improved.

"As one of the first impressions that visitors to Wilmslow have, we want to ensure the station approach continues to look attractive, so replacing the fencing was imperative. We thank our Town Handyperson for a great job installing the new fencing."
