A consultation is open on a proposal to build a 70 bed care home at the Halliwell Jones BMW site on 130 Manchester Road in Wilmslow.

Simply UK is proposing to develop a new 70 bed care home with associated visitor and staff car parking and landscaped gardens at the site of the Halliwell Jones BMW garage on Manchester Road.

The company is inviting the local community to view its proposals and provide any feedback..

Comments made will help shape its planning application with the view to an application being submitted in late December of this year.

The site has been in use as a car dealership since the early 1980s and has been rebuilt on a number of occasions.

A consultation is open to the public on proposals to transform the site of the Halliwell Jones on Manchester Road into a care home (Plan Red).

Halliwell Jones BMW dealership will be relocating to its new premises at Handforth and will be vacating the site by the end of 2024.

Care home plans include proposed parking for 24 cars, two disabled user spaces, ambulance drop-off and 10 bicycle spaces.

The frontage to Manchester Road will be enclosed with a low boundary brick wall incorporating piers and railings to ensure security for residents.

Once completed, the care home will be operated by Morar Living, who provide residential, dementia, nursing and palliative care throughout the UK.
